It’s been awhile.
First, though there are as yet no photos of the wedding itself available digitally, we have some pictures from our post-wedding trip to Taiwan as well as photos from our honeymoon in Maui. We had gone to Taiwan to have a formal wedding banquet with my massive extended family and family friends, many of whom I had never met in my life; we dropped by Maui for a week on the way back.
Upon returning to the States we found an apartment on Long Island and immediately moved there. Abigail started her internship in music therapy at the beginning of September at Molloy College, and is reveling in it.
I had decided over a year ago that I was going to Seattle for acupuncture school, but after a lot of research and mental anguish I decided on a better deal, a college in Florida. I had asked a number of people and actually Seattle came up alongside this school as one of the best schools for Oriental Medicine in the country; but I was really attracted to the latter’s emphasis on pulse diagnosis and comprehensive assessment of the health state prior to treatment, as opposed to Seattle’s more problem-oriented approach.
So next summer we’re moving to Florida.
After I visited the school in Florida, Abigail and I flew back to Taiwan. As it turns out, our visit to Taiwan in July was the last time we saw my grandfather alive. Soon after we left, he went into the hospital for the last time. So in October we went to his funeral.
Most recently I visited northern California to attend Matt Nelson’s wedding — he was in my yearlong program and was one of the ushers at my wedding. There were a bunch of other Teaching Drum people there too, so it made for a great reunion.
Now I’m taking classes at Farmingdale State University, and … living a life.
